The following is a non-exhaustive list of the most common FINAT standards we have equipment for:
FINAT FTM 1:Â This is the test method for the adhesive force required to remove a self-adhesive material. Measures peel angle at 180 degrees at 300mm/min
FINAT FTM 2:Â For this standard, the peel angle is 90 degrees at 300mm/min, with measurements taken 20 minutes and then 24 hours after adhesion.
FINAT FTM 3:Â FTM 3 measures low-speed release force.
FINAT FTM 10:Â Using a release force of 300mm/minute, this is the test standard for measuring the quality of silicone-coated substrates for laminates.
FINAT FTM 11: This standard tests the force required to peel a self-adhesive after brief contact with a silicone-coated material.
Thwing-Albert Instrument Company offers a variety of material testing equipment tailored to meet FINAT testing standards, such as:
VantageNX Tensile Strength Testing Machine: This universal testing machine is adaptable to many types of testing standards, including FINAT. It’s simple to operate, available in a single or dual-column frame and has different capacity options ranging from 1kN to 10kN. Fixtures such as peel fixtures for 90 and 180 degree testing and a loop tax fixture will meet FINAT standards.
QC-3A testing system:Â This is a durable, easy-to-use stand-alone equipment with an RS-232 interface. It can use various fixtures, such as for peel adhesion for FINAT and other quality standards with the proper fixtures.
FP-2260 Friction/Peel Tester: This machine tests seal strength, 90- and 180-degree peels and T-peel. It also measures the coefficient of friction and is suitable for adhesives, labels, plastic films, and packaging materials.
FINAT weighted roller: This hand roller is specifically designed to meet FINAT Standard 2.1 for peel testing applications and sample preparation. Available in two different weight classifications, this hand-held roller applies even pressure on pressure-sensitive adhesives.
Whether you’re looking to recalibrate your machine or upgrade your equipment from your initial configurator selections, Thwing-Albert has the solutions for your needs. Browse our online catalog or contact us for more information.
