What are the Windows system requirements for MAP4?

  • Processor 5 GHz
  • RAM 8 GB
  • Hard Disk Size 500 GB
  • Video 1920 x 1080 minimum
  • Serial Port 2 USB Ports
  • Operating System Windows 10 (Requires: Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5)

What Versions of Windows is MAP4 compatible with?

MAP4 is compatible for use with Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10 operating systems.

If you have a version older than 4.3 (versions 4.2 and lower) your software will need to be upgraded for use with Windows 10 installations.

You can check your version by going to the preferences tab and the version will appear in the panel below.

How do I check the communication between my computer and my testing machine?

If you are unable to establish communication between MAP4 and your tester (EJA Vantage, NX, FP2255, FP2260, HOM, ProTear) try the troubleshooting guides below.  This could be due to a few common issues including multiple instances open and running or security level access.

What test methods are included?

The standard test method library includes various industry standards ASTM, ISO, DIN, TAPPI, and more.  Some examples include  these common standards – ASTM D882, F88, ISO 12625.  The existing methods can be modified and new methods can be created to suit your needs.  If you want to know if we already have your standard in our library click here.

What types of tests can be performed using MAP4?

MAP4 includes a library of numerous test methods.  When the testing machine has the proper setup and accessories MAP4 can run tests including compression, puncture, burst, adhesion, tensile/elongation, tear, coefficient of friction, flexural stiffness/rigidity, etc.

 


What is the benefit of having multiple users?

MAP4 installs with a list of standard users. Additional users can be created and customized – each with their own set of permissions.  Access can be password protected to allow administrators to control test method and data integrity.

 


What are the global test method settings?

The global test method settings are where you can modify the test to meet your specific needs. 

Use caution here as modifying these settings can effect results and should only be changed with permission from the administrator.
