What Are AFERA International Testing Standards?

The AFERA international testing standards unify the quality standards of tapes and adhesives. The testing evaluates the tapes’ adhesive strength, stretchability, tear resistance and static shear resistance. These international standards allow end-users to have a product with a guaranteed high performance.

AFERA Standards List

Our material testing equipment meets common standards across many industries, including adhesives. The following are the AFERA standards for peel adhesion our equipment can meet:

AFERA 5001: This peeling test determines the adhesive’s peel adhesion to a stainless steel surface and its backing at a controlled angle of 180 or 90 degrees at a standard peel rate.

AFERA 4001: The AFERA 4001 standard measures the peel adhesion at 90 or 180 degrees.

AFERA 4008: This testing standard measures the unwinding force of adhesives at high speeds according to EN I2026 1996.

AFERA 4012: This standard tests the static shear force with the Shear Tester.

FP-2260 Friction/Peel Tester: This has built-in 180-degree peel adhesion and fixtures that include seal strength clamps for shear testing and 90-degree and T-peel tests. This machine can do AFERA testing, ASTM, TAPPI, ISO and more. It is lightweight and easy to setup in a lab or on a production floor.
