Descripción
The TA-100 is a 2.04 kg (4.5 lb) hand roller designed to meet the requirements of ASTM D3330, ASTM D6252 and PSTC 101 (PSTC Appendix B) test methods. It provides consistent pressure when adhering pressure-sensitive tape and label specimens to a test plate or substrate for peel adhesion testing. Its floating axle applies only the roller’s own weight, limiting operator influence on the pressure exerted. The roller can be removed easily for calibration certification and replacement.
- Part # 275-0100, PSTC/ASTM Weighted Hand Roller
- 2.04 kg (4.5 lb) roller
- Steel core with Shore A 80 durometer silicone rubber cover
- Diameter: 95 mm (3.75″)
Width: 45 mm (1.75″) - Handle legs extend past the roller to protect its surface
- Slotted handle lets the axles “float,” so only the roller’s weight is applied
- Optional certificate of calibration available on request
- Custom weights and sizes available on request. Please specify the required weight, diameter and width.
- All rollers are supplied with a Shore A 80 durometer rubber covering unless otherwise specified.
Sample Preparation for ASTM and PSTC Peel Adhesion Testing
ASTM D3330, ASTM D6252 and PSTC 101 call for test strips to be applied to the test panel with a standard weighted roller before peeling. Prepare specimens with the TA-100, then run the peel test on either Thwing-Albert instrument:
- FP-2265 Friction/Peel Tester: benchtop tester with a 180° peel arm included and an optional 90° Peel Fixture
- VantageNX Tensile Testing Machine: universal testing frame that can be outfitted with the 90 Degree Peel Fixture or 180 Degree Peel Fixture
Meets Industry Standards
| Standard | Test Method |

| ASTM D3330 / D3330M | Peel Adhesion of Pressure-Sensitive Tape |
| ASTM D6252 | Peel Adhesion of Pressure-Sensitive Label Stocks at a 90° Angle |
| PSTC 101 | Peel Adhesion of Pressure-Sensitive Tape, Methods A–F |
| PSTC Appendix B | Standard hand roller specification |
