The Puncture Fixture for ASTM F1306 is a pneumatic fixture used to measure the puncture resistance of flexible materials such as film, laminates and packaging material. The sample clamp holds the sample, and the probe passes through the circular opening in the top plate to penetrate the sample.
Thwing-Albert has several fixtures for testing food texture, including the Apple Probe Fixture. This special application fixture is designed to test the puncture resistance of apples. The Apple Probe Fixture is valuable for the food packaging industry.
Our Film Puncture Fixture is essential for burst and puncture testing of flexible materials. The pneumatic clamping system secures the sample, and the probe penetrates the sample through a circular opening in the top plate. Technicians can order this fixture with a specific probe diameter, sample holder height and circular opening diameter to comply with published test methods and custom applications.
The Puncture Fixture for ASTM D4833 is a universal puncture fixture that measures the index puncture resistance of geomembranes, geotextiles and similar samples. It complies with ISO 12236 and ASTM D4833.
Our Puncture Fixture for ASTM D6241 and ISO 12236 measures the static puncture strength of geotextiles and similar materials. The mechanical clamp holds the sample, and the 50-millimeter (mm) probe penetrates the sample through a circular opening.
The TAS174 Puncture Fixture determines the protrusion puncture resistance of stretch wrap film samples using a Teflon coated probe and a maximum load of 5 kilonewtons (kN). It’s manufactured from nickel-plated steel. It is used to tests samples according to the ASTM D5748 quality standard.
The Tissue Burst Fixture can be used to complete both wet and dry mechanical burst testing for tissue paper and toweling sample types. This burst test fixture complies with TAPPI T-570-00, ISO 12625-9:2004 and 12625-11, and ASTM D6548.
Our Puncture Fixture for ASTM D751 features a screwdriver shaped probe for this puncture test standard. A flat-tip screwdriver probe penetrates the sample with 200 N of force as it’s held by the mechanical clamping accessory. This fixture is compatible with rubber-coated fabrics, including rainwear and tarpaulins.
