Sample Type: Stretch wrap film
This peel test fixture is used to evaluate the peel cling of stretch wrap film in accordance with ASTM D5458. Stretch wrap film – typically a polyethylene film used to unitize and stabilize palletized loads for storage and transport – relies on the cling between adjacent layers to hold a load tight after wrapping. This fixture measures that cling with the film in either a stretched or relaxed state: the sample is adhered to an inclined surface per the standard method, and the force to remove the strip of film is captured during the test. Applicable for smaller samples.
This fixture is designed for use on the Vantage Series of universal testing machines, including the VantageNX, running MAP4™ Materials Testing Software. It could also be modified with the proper adapters for use on other manufacturers’ frames.
Two Platen Options:
TA-62-20-500 = Test platen length 500 mm
TA-62-20-600 = Test platen length 600 mm
